Hotel Villa Del Bosco

Cons: -The room, despite vintage style (good looking) with bit old furniture like the bed, noisy and a rough. -No place to put soap or shampoo in the shower, thats very annoying. -Our room on ground-floor, had the window view towards the restaurant tables. Very uncomfortable. -One night we had dinner at the restaurant. Only 1 out of 4 dishes was good. -Location is a bit complicated if you don't have your own car. - More variety in Breakfast would be appreciated. Fruits please! At least natural juices Pros: -Room super clean, AC and appliances worked as expected -Toilet is spacious and tidy clean -They compensate location issues with 2 scheduled transfers to city center or beach every morning. Other than that be ready to pay for it (actually that's over all Catania, transport system just sucks) -Nice drinks at the bar/pool -You can order food from Glovo and have it wherever you want -Breakfast is quite decent, specially the cornettos. Finally: A special thank you to the staff, they are the soul of the place. Without them the Hotel is just nothing. Extremely kind, helpful, happy and nice, even the "cons" are very well handled by them. Kudos guys! (Despite I know and could type their names since they're super friendly, I rather respecting their privacy)

I had the best experience in this hotel. All the staff were incredible. Thank you so much to Claudia, Dennis, Giuseppe, Isobella, Michael and everyone else who I haven't mentioned. You made our stay at the hotel so welcoming and if we needed anything, it was fulfilled within 2 minutes. The building and rooms are spectacular and you can even get a wonderful view of Mount Etna from the rooftop balcony at the breakfast room. If I go back to Catania, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you so much Villa Del Bosco for memories that will last a lifetime.

In short, I will NEVER return to this hotel again. I originally chose this location because on their website they offer and shuttle every hour into the historic city center and also a shuttle to the beach. Upon check in, we got to our room which was quite disappointing. Our safe didn’t work at all because it said low battery so we called the front desk and they sent the maintenance who looked at the safe. We told him the battery needed to be replaced and he told us no. He said it could not be fixed. The refrigerator that was in the room also did not work which we notified him and he had to change and outlet and fix. There was also numerous bugs flying around the room. With the being all within the 5 minutes, I called the front desk to have them switch out room and Alexia advised they would not switch our room and the hotel was fully booked. There were barely any people at the hotel the entire time of our stay so I believe that was untruthful. The room was dirty, the curtains were broken and the bathroom was disgusting. We tried to switch hotels however there was nothing we could get last minute. There was no shuttle service because they stated it does not run until June. so we spent a lot of money going back and fourth into town. Needless to say this was an extremely disappointing stay and a waste of money. Upon checking out we had a different employee who asked how our stay was. When I informed her of everything and told her that they refused to change our room because the hotel was “full” she told me they would’ve absolutely changed our room and she apologized. The only thing offered was a free drink at the bar by Alexia when I asked her to change our room which was useless. Also I called and asked them to bring a hairdryer and they never did.
